Why having a travel agent in your corner matters

September 21, 2026•2 min read

Booking the holiday is only part of what I do.

Most of the time, everything goes exactly as planned. You arrive, check in, unpack and get on with enjoying your holiday.

But occasionally, something needs sorting.

And that's when having a travel agent in your corner can make a real difference.

A honeymoon that needed my help

Recently, I had clients arrive at their honeymoon hotel and find that aspects of their accommodation weren't what they had expected.

Not exactly how anyone wants to start their honeymoon.

They messaged me.

From that point, I could start dealing with it from the UK while they carried on with their holiday.

I contacted the tour operator, raised the concerns with the hotel and followed up for answers.

My clients didn't have to work out who to contact or spend their honeymoon chasing different companies.

They had me.

It starts long before you travel

Having a travel agent in your corner isn't only useful when something unexpected happens.

Before my clients travel, I'm checking the details.

Flight changes.

Names.

Transfers.

Room requests.

Special requirements.

Documents.

And if something changes, there's somebody who already knows the booking and can work out what needs to happen next.

For a honeymoon, family holiday or one of those trips you've been looking forward to for years, that matters.

You still have someone after you've booked

This is probably one of the biggest differences between booking a holiday and having somebody handle it for you.

My job doesn't finish when you've paid your deposit.

I'm still here.

If you've got a question six months later, ask me.

If your flight time changes, I'll look at it.

If you need something requesting with the hotel, I'll sort it.

And if you're standing in a hotel room thousands of miles from home thinking, “This isn't what we expected”, you can message me.

You don't have to start figuring everything out on your own.

That's part of what you're booking

Of course I'll look for the right hotel, flights and price.

I'll also look at the details that can make a difference to your time away.

But you're booking something else too.

Someone who knows your holiday.

Someone you can come back to.

And someone who can step in when you need them.

Because travel is personal.

And when it's one of the moments that really matters, having someone in your corner matters too.

If you've got a holiday, honeymoon or big trip you're starting to think about, I can sort this for you.
